Like many in our Nepalese community, the “Australian dream” was pretty straightforward: work hard, get your residency sorted, earn a stable income and eventually buy a house. Simple in theory… slightly less simple in practice.

I watched my cousins who had been here for years start buying their first homes, and I found myself fascinated by the whole process. I asked a lot of questions – probably more than they preferred at family gatherings. But what stood out to me was that most people were basing huge financial decisions on advice that sounded like:
“My friend’s cousin’s brother did this, so you should too.”

Turns out, friendly advice is not always good advice.

As I learned more about the real estate world, I also noticed the reputation traditional agents had. That’s when I discovered Buyer’s Agents — professionals who actually work on the buyer’s side. That clicked instantly. I realised there was a real need for clear, unbiased guidance, backed by actual strategy instead of group chat opinions.

So I decided to start TrueNest Portfolio Advisory.

My goal is to help everyday people make confident, data-driven property decisions — without the guesswork, the hype or the “my mate said…” strategy.
